How to preparE an existing lawn? For
damaged lawns, we recommend excavating the sod and then
adding 4-6 inches of fresh topsoil. Then, rake and
roll the soil so it is level and not full of bumps. After
completion, lightly rake the surface to add texture to the
soil so seeds can better penetrate. After these steps are
completed, the soil should be prepared for hydroseeding.
Things to
consider: (1)
It may be necessary to install an adequate draining system if
your soil floods or puddles.
(2) Check your Soil's PH level (should
be around 7 PH).
(3) Consult
a professional landscaper for other situations (please
visit Mark's Pacific NW INC).
Before we
hydroseed your soil: Water your soil 30 minutes
before we arrive to spray. We can apply a better hydroseeding
application to soils that are wet. We do not recommend that
you drench your soil, but apply just enough water where puddles do
not form and soil texture is still firm (soft soil can leave
footprints). |
